Advanced Cancer Treatment Options

At Exeter Hospital's Michael & Jeanne Falzone Center for Cancer Care, patients have access to advanced cancer treatments using the latest technology and research. Our oncology team — including medical, surgical, and radiation specialists — works together to design a personalized treatment plan tailored to your diagnosis, health, and goals.

We offer a full range of therapies to treat cancer effectively while supporting your comfort and quality of life.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy uses medicines to destroy cancer cells or stop them from growing. It can be given through an IV, by injection, or in pill form. Our oncology pharmacists and nurses closely monitor each treatment to ensure safety and manage side effects effectively.

Oncology Pharmacy Support

Our on-site oncology pharmacy team reviews every medication order, prepares therapies according to national safety standards, and educates patients about what to expect during treatment.

Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy helps your body’s immune system recognize and attack cancer cells. This treatment may be used alone or with other therapies. Immunotherapy can help slow or stop cancer growth, prevent recurrence, and improve long-term outcomes for certain cancers.

Targeted Therapy

Targeted therapy focuses on specific genes, proteins, or tissue environments that contribute to cancer growth. These drugs are designed to block cancer cell development while minimizing damage to healthy cells. Genetic testing helps determine whether targeted therapy is an appropriate option for your type of cancer.

Radiation Therapy

In collaboration with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, our radiation oncologists design precise treatment plans tailored to each patient. Using state-of-the-art equipment and advanced imaging techniques, they target tumors while protecting nearby healthy tissue.

Common radiation treatments include:

  • CT Simulation for accurate treatment mapping
  • Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) for precise targeting
  • Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) for advanced dose control
  • Partial Breast Irradiation when appropriate for breast cancer patients

Surgery

Surgery remains one of the most effective ways to diagnose, stage, and treat cancer. Depending on your diagnosis, you may have surgery alone or in combination with chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Our surgeons work closely with other oncology specialists to ensure your procedure is part of a coordinated, comprehensive care plan.

Supportive Cancer Care

Throughout treatment, our team focuses on managing side effects, relieving symptoms, and supporting emotional well-being. Services include nurse navigation, nutrition counseling, physical rehabilitation, and survivorship programs to help you recover and thrive after treatment.
