Exeter Hospital Welcomes New Board Members
New Members Will Help Guide Exeter's Mission
Exeter, NH – Exeter Hospital announced today that three new members have joined the hospital’s Board of Trustees: Lauren B. Messmore, James L. Thompson, and Derek J. Trapasso, MD.
Exeter Hospital’s board is made up of dedicated professionals with a wealth of personal and professional experience and a shared commitment to the hospital’s mission to create healthier communities — one person at a time — through seamless care and ground-breaking science, driven by excellence, innovation and equity.

About Exeter Hospital's New Trustees
Lauren B. Messmore
Ms. Messmore recently retired as Director and President of the BNY Mellon Charitable Gift Fund, as well as an advisory board member to Fintech Companies Artificial Intelligence Risk, Inc. and FiVerity, Inc. She has previous experience as a Chief Financial Officer of Nasdaq-listed community banks operating in Massachusetts.
Ms. Messmore holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard College and resides with her husband in Atkinson, New Hampshire.
James L. Thompson
Mr. Thompson recently retired after forty years of banking, most recently as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer at River Run Bancorp in Newburyport, Massachusetts. He is active in the community in several roles including as Chairman of the Newfields Town Planning Board, a member of the Exeter Hospital United in Wellness Committee, a director of a Marina Condo Association, as well as a financial and membership clerk for his church.
Mr. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Arts from Rider University and attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware. He resides with his family in Newfields, New Hampshire.
Derek J. Trapasso, MD
Dr. Trapasso is Medical Director at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH. Board-certified in Pediatric Hospital Medicine and General Pediatrics, Dr. Trapasso has more than 20 years of clinical and administrative leadership experience, including prior roles as Medical Director for MassGeneral Children’s Pediatric Hospitalist Programs at Exeter, Wentworth-Douglas, and Norwood Hospitals.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Siena College and a medical degree from Albany Medical College. Dr. Trapasso resides in Exeter, New Hampshire with his family.
