Exeter Hospital Achieves Elite National Status as a Straight 'A' for Patient Safety
Fifth Consecutive ‘A’ Grades Demonstrate Exeter Hospital’s Dedication to Patients
Exeter, NH – Exeter Hospital was awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for the fifth consecutive grading round by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. This designates Exeter Hospital as a “Straight A” hospital, defined as hospitals that have an A for Spring 2026 and have sustained that grade for the last five or more grading rounds.
“We are proud that Exeter Hospital is once again being honored for the high-quality care we provide to all patients, right in their community,” said Debra Cresta, president, Exeter Hospital. “Safety is at the foundation of all that we do, and we are grateful for the Leapfrog Group's consistent recognition of this work.”
Leapfrog assigns a grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
“Exeter Hospital deserves recognition for its unwavering focus on protecting patients and delivering safe care, earning an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade for five consecutive cycles,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “Sustaining this level of excellence over time shows a true, organization-wide commitment to making patient safety a top priority every single day.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections, and injuries. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
